This sterling silver letter opener/stamp holder was hand wrought by the noted California silversmith, Porter Blanchard in 1929. Designed to commemorate the opening of the now demolished Richfield Building in downtown Los Angeles. Porter Blanchard created this sterling silver letter opener embellishing it with fine architectural detail of the Art Deco facade of The Richfield Building. There is a hidden compartment in the handle of this letter opener which slides off to reveal a container for stamps.
