These lights were mounted in the ceiling of the 20th Century Limited. Henry Dreyfuss re-designed both the exterior and interior in 1938, of the 20th Century Limited, one of the most famous of the Streamline Trains. The convex glass insert magnifies the light. Henry Dreyfuss was one of America’s foremost modern industrial designers. Starting in 1929 when Henry Dreyfuss opened his own studio until 1969 when he retired, his modernist designs touched every aspect of the American public.
