Outstanding 3 dimensional choker length necklace handmade in sterling silver signed Art Smith. Originally conceived in the 1950’s, he made a few select examples of this necklace in sterling silver in the early 1960’s. Art Smith was a renowned Modernist jeweler based in Greenwich Village. His work was featured in both Vogue and Harpers Bizarre. In 1969 he was honored with a one-man exhibition at New York’s Museum of Contemporary Crafts (now the Museum of Art and Design).
